Product Specialist-Welding

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and planning skills, strong knowledge of orbital welding, heat treating, and dry ice blasting with a proven background in successful sales results


Reporting to the Director of Specialty Products, the candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow rentals, lease & sales of Specialty products, primarily by working with Red-D-Arc and Airgas account managers and advanced fabrication specialists. The candidate would work tirelessly in order to bridge gaps between Airgas, Red-D-Arc, and Air Liquide.


Essential Functions---Knowledge of Welding and Heat Treating


  • Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Connects customers to Airgas and RDA to provide complete value through collaboration
  • Develops and implements sales growth strategies with both Red-D-Arc direct customers and via the Airgas sales channel, including developing product training programs.
  • Works directly with both Red-D-Arc and Airgas sales teams, including the Advanced Fabrication team and National / Strategic Account managers, promoting rental, lease and sale of Specialty products via training, meetings and customer visits.
  • Supports regional WPS’s with training and more involved projects. Integrates the specialty strategic sales plan into the districts
  • Works with the Director of Specialty Products to develop successful strategic sales campaigns and product specific marketing programs.
  • Uses appropriate social media channels such as LinkedIn to promote Specialty products.
  • Stays abreast of current market trends. Identifies new areas of opportunity to expand the Specialty product line.
  • Participates in product development and enhancements in a team environment utilizing feedback from all sources.
  • Participates in meetings with primary suppliers.
  • Meets or exceeds annual sales & profitability budget, helps set and push regional sales targets.
  • Maintains accurate and timely reports, including business plans and regional forecasts.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education:

  • Post secondary education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or the equivalent work experience required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years related working experience in working with orbital welding, induction or resistance heating, or blasting products.
  • Background in selling through industrial distribution (experience selling to Airgas is ideal but not a requirement).
  • Strong working knowledge of welding processes, orbital welding, heat treating, and dry ice blasting systems.
