Job Title: Quality, Insulation & Refractory Inspector
Schedule: 5/40 (expected to be 5/50 as project needs advance)
Location: Orange, TX
Note: Includes 10 days of PTO and no 401K match
Duration: 18-month contract
Experience Required: 13+ RELEVANT experience
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled inspector to oversee coatings, insulation, and refractory materials, including fireproofing, for our project. This role involves supporting welding inspections, conducting nondestructive examinations, and assisting in various construction discipline inspections as needed. You will be part of the Quality Management Function within the Ethylene (ETH) Construction Organization, ensuring that all work meets required standards and specifications. Occasional domestic business travel may be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with team members to ensure project success and adherence to standards.
Inspect consumables, their storage, handling, shelf-life, and pot-life to ensure compliance.
Verify environmental and substrate conditions, surface preparation, coating, insulation application, and related testing.
Participate in system/work package activities and walkdowns to ensure conformity before acceptance by the company.
Ensure calibration and maintenance of production, measurement, and test equipment.
Review records for completeness, accuracy, and traceability.
Communicate and fulfill requirements effectively.
Promote and practice safety, leading by example.
Adhere to established policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Support project goals and objectives.
Ensure Contractor Group activities achieve planned results.
Assist with quality audits and report findings.
Implement and ensure effective risk-based thinking, preventive action, and corrective action.
Manage and document nonconformities, ensuring their resolution.
Record and maintain information demonstrating acceptance status and fulfillment of quality requirements.
Resolve quality issues and facilitate improvements through collaboration.
Maintain positive working relationships and deescalate conflicts amicably.
Liaise with project personnel to achieve desired outcomes.
Practice self-accountability in meeting responsibilities.
Report quality management activities' status and results as required.
