Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real-time data streams and image processing, with a passion for developing cutting-edge software solutions. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining software systems that process and analyze data from radar, and camera sources.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development
- Design, develop, and optimize software for real-time data streaming and image processing.
- Implement robust algorithms for image recognition, object detection, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software solutions with surveillance hardware.
- Navigate video camera protocols, compatibility, configuration, monitoring and integration to our proprietary software
- Reverse engineering experience would be helpful.
Data Management
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for real-time data ingestion, processing, and storage.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security throughout the processing stages.
System Integration
- Integrate software with various sensors and devices used in coastal surveillance.
- Ensure seamless data flow between hardware and software components.
Performance Optimization
- Optimize software performance for real-time processing and low-latency requirements.
- Conduct performance testing and implement improvements as needed.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Lead and mentor junior programmers and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
Research and Innovation
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in real-time data streaming and image processing technologies.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance our surveillance systems.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on real-time data streams and image processing.
- Proven experience in developing and optimizing algorithms for real time data management and display for users.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, Python, C++, Tcl/Tk, or Java.
- Experience with real-time data processing frameworks.
- Experience with Qt Design Studio (or similar SW) for building UI Graphics is a plus
- Understanding of image processing libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Familiarity with database systems and data management techniques.
