Project Process Engineer

Engineering Services Company serving Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Mining industries from our

Englewood, Colorado based company.

 

Our Project Process Engineers:

Project contributor to our client's Development, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance teams to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget. Provide project engineering and process engineering design support for all projects. Develop, design, and coordinate capital projects. Listen to client needs, identify support teams, and act as liaison between project team members.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process Design & Detail Engineering including performing process simulations, design calculations, Process Optimization, sizing & selection of equipment etc.
  • Review of Clients tender documents, specifications, datasheets, verification of FEED design & calculations. 
  • Preparation of various engineering deliverables (Drawings & Documents) such as Process Flow Diagrams, P & I Diagrams, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, HAZOP Studies & reports, Operation & maintenance manuals etc. and providing necessary engineering inputs to the other disciplines and other departments.
  • Define project scope and Process Control Philosophy
  • Review facility designs, and cost estimates.
  • Provide Facilities Engineering support for Operations and Asset Development opportunity planning, evaluation, definition.
  • Drive business and safety improvement through performance measurement and review.
  • Apply Lessons Learned, functional Best Practices, and industry analogues to facilities scopes of work.

 

 

Duties include:

  • Prepare sketches and perform calculations for detailed segments of projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications for review and approval
  • Evaluate vendors’ bids and drawings for projects
  • Monitor subcontracted technical service activities
  • Assist with development of design guides, guide specifications, and design operating procedures.
  • Lead design team from architecture through installation, including client interface and service.
  • Responsible for technical and application support to client manufacturing plant facilities. 
  • Coordinate and perform the definition, analysis, development and implementation of Process Systems to achieve client Goals including specification, sizing, of equipment and piping;
  • Development of technical standards and application interfaces, documentation, implementation and conceptual development
  • Guide Designers, and Drafters through deliverable generation process for projects.
  • Safety systems, including PSV sizing, PHA execution and facilitation
  • Review cost estimates, facility design and supporting Regulatory applications using material/service specification and selection.
  •  Preparation & Issue of RFQ’s, evaluation of vendor’s quotations, clarifications, Technical Bid Analysis etc.
  • Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.

 

 

 

Requirements:                                                                                                                                                                        

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in petroleum engineering, chemical engineering or related discipline and 3-7 years of progressively responsible post baccalaureate experience in facilities, operations engineering or related discipline. Requires experience with a combination of natural gas gathering systems, compression, dehydration, gas conditioning, refining, petrochemical, upstream, midstream, and pipelines.

  • Minimum 3 years of varied related industry experience; 5 years preferred.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with Development Engineers, Construction Supervisors, Operations, and other staff.
  • Able to identify, control and manage conflict, risks, changes, safety, quality, cost & schedule in an organized manner and often time-constrained environment.
  • Demonstrate technical, project management and leadership skills and commitment to HSE and Corporate Responsibility, as required to successfully execute Infrastructure projects and deliver a quality product.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills to effectively interact with and present to Senior Management, partners and external stakeholders.
  • A desire for continuous learning.
  • Some travel to client locations may be required.
  • Conversant with the Engineering Standards such as API, NFPA, ASME, BS / EN etc.
