Position Summary

Infrastructure Engineer

Full-time role, direct hire

Hybrid working, office just outside of Philadelphia

Up to $120k base plus benefits


My client, a leader in the manufacturing space, is recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the team due to an increase in workload following some acquisitions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, have excellent communication skills and a wealth of demonstrable experience focusing on Windows, VMware, and Cisco technologies.

In turn, you will get to work with a fantastic CIO who has recently joined the business as well as a talented Director of Infrastructure – all good people working at a company that looks after its employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, coordinating, and maintaining the IT environment encompassing network, voice, server, and datacenter technologies.
  • The role requires a combination of skills from system administrators, network designers, and database administrators.
  • The infrastructure engineer supervises the hardware, networking, and software layers of the IT environment, ensuring that the entire system meets business needs, easily scales up, and adapts to new features.
  • Upgrading and improving operating environments.
  • Provide technical support and training for users.


Required skills & experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or Systems Engineer focusing on networking, voice, server, database and datacenter technologies. Further experience in system administration / IT support would be advantageous.
  • Technical skills in Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Azure, VMware (vCenter, vSphere etc.), Cisco etc.
  • Formal training in computer hardware, software and networking or a bachelor’s degree.
  • Certifications in Network, Server, or Datacenter certifications such as MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), A+, etc.
  • Basic experience with AS/400 environment would be a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of cyber security fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills – including communicating with VIPs / C-suite, both written & verbal.
  • Busy Savviness. Ability to speak in business terms translating technical concepts into business terminology.
  • Excellent customer service skills, real-time communication, simplify complexity in communication.
