Distribution Manager: We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Distribution Manager to oversee the distribution process within our organization. The Distribution Manager will play a key role in optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring the timely delivery of goods from distributors and to customers, while also maintaining efficient inventory levels. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of distribution logistics. Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory levels and analyze current/future projects to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained. Perform routine product inspections to reduce wastage and enhance the efficient utilization of inventory.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to schedule deliveries, negotiate prices, and manage inbound logistics.
  • Oversee the outbound shipping process, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders.
  • Utilize inventory management software to track the movement of goods and maintain accurate records.
  • Responsible for asset management practices, including the oversight of tools, vehicles, and other resources to ensure optimal utilization and maintenance.
  • Implement recycling initiatives to repurpose and responsibly dispose of old products and materials, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing sustainability.
  • Develop, implement, and refine distribution strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulations through regular audits of distribution processes and procedures.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to distribution operations in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in distribution logistics to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives to support company goals and objectives.


Required/Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in distribution logistics or supply chain management,, demonstrating a strong understanding of distribution processes and procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a demonstrated capacity to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
