A great UHY client is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of FP&A experience, exposure to fund administration, and financial services industry experience.


The Financial Analyst is a hybrid position with 3 days in the office. This is a client direct hire position.


Financial Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the analysis for monthly market discount analysis (1276 tax adjustment).
  • Calculate the REMIC quarterly updates and the Reverse Mortgage true ups and monthly accruals.
  • Create the funds annual corporate dividend and capital gain calendars for each new calendar year.
  • Preparation of the daily Morning Report and periodic Ex-dividend memos.
  • Assist with security litigation filings and, as needed, supply documentation to substantiate claims; monitor/track settlements received and determine per share impact to funds. Responsible for distributing checks to the service providers.
  • Coordinate completion of NASDAQ filings for the media and supplementary listings; update and verify listing in the WSJ, as appropriate. Completion of NASDAQ filing for any opening, closing, or merger of funds.
  • Coordinate completion of ISS and NASDAQ invoices.
  • Analyze a variety of financial information for the mutual funds including dividend recommendations, capital gain calculations/recommendations and performance information including NAVs, shadow NAVs, dividends, undistributed net income, yields, total returns, weighted average maturity and weighted average life. Summarize findings and make recommendations to management.
  • Prepare appropriate information reports for the Board of Directors’ meetings.
  • Review summary reports (e.g. monthly management/custodian/administration) prepared by the Funds’ accounting service providers to ensure that procedures contracted for are being performed at contracted service levels.
  • Assist the Securities Valuation department, as needed, by acting as a back-up with monitoring the pricing of fund securities and derivatives.


Financial Analyst, FP&A Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related business field
  • 1 year of business experience required; 1 year of experience in Mutual Fund Industry or prior experience with financial services fund administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of mutual funds is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office preferred.
  • Outstanding decision-making, problem solving, organizational and analytical skills with particular attention given to detail and accuracy.
