About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Construction to lead and oversee our solar energy projects from concept to completion. This role is based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, and requires an expert with 6-10 years of experience in solar construction. The Director of Construction will manage all phases of construction, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while adhering to safety and quality standards. This is a pivotal role that will contribute directly to our mission of expanding renewable energy infrastructure across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage end-to-end construction of solar projects, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, superintendents, and construction staff to deliver quality results.
  • Budget & Financial Management: Establish and manage budgets for each project, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements to ensure the well-being of all employees and contractors.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control measures to ensure all projects meet company and industry standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in project plans and implement strategies to mitigate those risks, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Scheduling & Resource Allocation: Develop and manage detailed project timelines and allocate resources effectively to optimize project efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in solar energy or renewable construction preferred.
  • 6-10+ years of proven experience in managing solar energy construction projects, ideally with a background in large-scale solar infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and renewable energy project management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and tools.
  • Ability to work in Charlotte, NC, with occasional travel to project sites.
