As the Interior Designer, you will play a crucial role in transforming our retail spaces into visually stunning and functional environments. You will collaborate with our team of designers, managers, consultants, and clients to bring design visions to life. Your creativity, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in creating awe-inspiring interiors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interior Designer for the New Initiatives Team for Cruise Lines – these projects include but are not limited to:
New Builds
New Store Concepts
Cruise Line Initiatives
Company Initiatives
- Create and present design concepts, such as Effy Stores on New Cruise Ships, VIP Spaces and Secondary Retail Spaces to various cruise lines.
- Develop functional layouts that optimize guest flow and meet operational needs, ensuring compliance with Effy brand standards and safety and accessibility standards.
- Research and select materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with Effy standards while considering durability, maintenance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of design elements with structural and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with various Effy project teams and outside vendors and contractors to ensure that project deliverables are met, and the quality standards are maintained.
- Review and provide feedback on shop drawings
- Attend ship visits and site visits if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design, retail design and/or cruise design experience a plus.
- Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign in particular).
- Knowledge of FF&E/Specifications
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to quickly execute design iterations.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Knowledge of millwork and detailing.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and standards for cruise ships a plus
- Must be NYC based with availability to travel to various destinations as needed.
