St Louis, United States Washington University in St. Louis Full time

We are a protein design and engineering lab combining state-of-the-art technologies in computational protein design with experimental validation. This is a unique moment as protein design using AI is rapidly becoming very successful in generating custom proteins. We are developing antivirals, vaccines and gene delivery devices; projects can be in either area depending on previous training.

The Strauch lab (strauchlab.com) is a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment interfacing with various groups in virology and immunology on and beyond the WashU campus.

We have state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, including cell sorter, BLI, FPLC system, Light scattering, tissue culture, etc, and excellent cores for next-generation sequencing or cryoEM on campus for any needs that may come up.

Qualifications

We are looking for a computational biologist, structural biologist, biochemist or chemist, biological engineer, or Ph.D.s in related fields with an interest in designing protein structures to tackle challenging problems. Experience with Python is preferred

Application

Interested candidates should submit a single pdf file containing (1) a cover letter describing their research experience and interests, scientific achievements, and career goals, (2) a CV with contact information, (3) sample publications, and (4) a list of 2-3 references (with email addresses).
