Position Overview

We are seeking a talented software developer to join a small engineering team that is growing fast.  This is a hybrid position with expectations to work in our Syracuse office 3 days a week and 2 days from home. You will report to the CTO. We expect to double the size of the team in the next six months so there is plenty of opportunity for advancement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance our web application in Express/Node.js and Next.js(React) using Typescript and JavaScript 
  • Excel in an entrepreneurial environment where autonomy and good ideas will have a major impact on the success of the business
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
  • Write unit tests and integration tests to accompany your implementation code 
  • Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with the team
  • Collaborate closely with non-technical team members to refine product ideas
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve development processes


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Full Stack JS Development
  • Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React / NextJS) 
  • Proficiency with modern backend frameworks (e.g. NodeJS / Express) 
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g. Postgres) and ORMs (e.g. Prisma)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Strong problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. Computer Science or equivalent
  • Typescript experience
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and testing best practices
  • Familiarity with design / UX best practices
  • A good sense of humor
