Hobson Prior is working alongside a medical devices company seeking a driven Associate Director to join the Research Team within the Data Science Group. You will play a key role in leading research projects, guiding a team of data scientists, and working with various teams to enhance our genetic testing solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists and researchers.
  • Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of research projects.
  • Manage multiple research projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with different departments to integrate research findings into products.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in data science and genetics.
  • Present research findings to stakeholders and prepare scientific publications and reports.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or Engineering.
  • Strong background in machine learning, data science, and statistical modelling.
  • Experience with large-scale data and cloud-based environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and open-source machine learning libraries.
  • Understanding of genetic data and bioinformatics pipelines.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing research teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
