This is NOT a role for general network engineers with basic F5 exposure. We need F5 specialists who architect complex load balancing solutions, not just configure devices. This hands-on technical role requires deep expertise in F5 BIG-IP platforms and comprehensive understanding of network architecture, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM solutions. You'll design complex load balancing architectures that support business-critical applications, provide fourth-level escalation support, and collaborate with network, cloud, and engineering teams across the enterprise.ResponsibilitiesConfigure, maintain, and optimize F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers ensuring high availability and performanceDesign complex load balancing solutions for multi-cloud and data center environmentsDesign and engineer DNS-based Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) solutions for disaster recoveryDesign and engineer local application load balancing solutions including health monitoring, persistence, and SSL offloadingMaintain and optimize DDI platforms (Infoblox, BlueCat, Nokia VitalQIP, or NS1)Implement, upgrade, and install new load balancing equipment following change management proceduresProvide fourth-level escalation support for complex load balancing troubleshootingTrack network performance metrics and deploy proactive solutionsConduct network architecture analysis and implement engineering solutionsCollaborate with application teams, security teams, and infrastructure groups QualificationsMust-Have Experience5+ years hands-on experience configuring and managing F5 BIG-IP platforms in enterprise environmentsExpert-level knowledge of F5 modules: LTM (Local Traffic Manager), GTM (Global Traffic Manager), APM, and ASMProven experience designing and engineering DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) solutions at enterprise scaleHands-on experience with DDI platforms: Infoblox, BlueCat, Nokia VitalQIP, or NS1 (REQUIRED)Deep understanding of DNS-based Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) design and implementationExtensive experience with local application load balancing (health checks, persistence methods, traffic management)Strong experience with alternative load balancing solutions (Avi Networks/VMware NSX ALB or Citrix NetScaler) Required SkillsComprehensive knowledge of WAN/LAN network management and optimizationThorough understanding of network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) and protocolsStrong grasp of network architecture: OSI model, TCP/IP, routing protocols, network securityProven ability to design complex load balancing solutions for cloud and hybrid environmentsExperience implementing high-availability configurations and disaster recovery architecturesAdvanced troubleshooting skills for complex network and application delivery issuesStrong understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, certificate management, and encryptionExperience with change management processes and documentation standards Preferred SkillsF5 certifications (F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator, F5 Certified Technology Specialist)Infoblox or BlueCat certificationsExperience with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform)Knowledge of iRules and Traffic Management Shell (TMSH) scriptingCloud load balancing services experience (AWS ELB/ALB, Azure Load Balancer, GCP)Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes ingress controllersExperience with APM tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic)Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integrationExperience with WAF and DDoS mitigation technologiesBackground in financial services, healthcare, or regulated industriesITIL processes and incident/problem management frameworksEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
