The IT Help Desk Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) across multiple branch locations. This role includes running and organizing network cabling, configuring new IT equipment, upgrading and troubleshooting existing hardware, and managing IT-related configurations for digital signage, professional-grade camera systems, phone systems, and peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and RF guns. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in networking, hardware support, and IT configurations specific to AV, communication, and peripheral equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

LAN/WAN Management:

  • Manage and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure at various branch locations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Monitor network performance and provide necessary upgrades or optimizations.


Cabling and Infrastructure:

  • Run, organize, and maintain network cabling, including Ethernet, fiber, and other relevant cables.
  • Ensure all cabling in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.


Equipment Configuration and Support:

  • Configure and integrate new IT equipment into the existing network, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Upgrade hardware and software for existing equipment to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for IT equipment, ensuring swift resolution of issues.
  • Set up, configure, and support printers, scanners, RF guns, and phone systems to ensure they are properly integrated with the network.

Digital Signage, Camera, and Phone Systems:

  • Manage IT configurations for digital signage systems, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
  • Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of professional-grade camera equipment as it relates to IT infrastructure.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot phone systems to ensure reliable communication services.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, equipment inventories, and service logs.
  • Prepare and present reports on network performance, issues resolved, and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred but not required).

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, network management, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN management, network cabling, and IT equipment configuration.
  • Experience with digital signage systems, professional-grade camera equipment, phone systems, and peripheral devices like printers, scanners, and RF guns.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in networking protocols, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and network troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware, including routers, switches, servers, printers, scanners, RF guns, and phone systems.
  • Familiarity with digital signage software, camera systems, and phone systems related to IT configurations.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment, including servers, switches, cabling materials, and peripheral devices.
  • Comfortable working in varied environments, including server rooms and outdoor settings.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to branch locations as needed.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when necessary.
