The Development Operations Engineer position is responsible for our development, testing and production environments. This person will help the team build process automation, deployment processes and monitoring for applications/services.


What You’ll Do


  • Lead DevOps Initiatives: Take charge of the DevOps strategy, roadmap, and implementation within the organization. Lead the team in adopting best practices for continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, providing technical direction, support, and coaching. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Ensure high availability and performance of production systems.
  • Automation and Tooling: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment processes, configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Set up and configure monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure. Respond promptly to incidents and work on root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance standards across infrastructure and applications. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to facilitate seamless integration of new features, bug fixes, and enhancements into production. Act as a bridge between different teams to promote a DevOps culture.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures. Ensure knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.


What You’ll Bring


  • 5+ years' experience with Linux/Unix environments with solid system administration experience
  • Capable of technical deep-dives into networking, operating systems and storage, yet verbally and cognitively agile enough to hold your own in a strategy discussion with developers and business partners
  • Working experience in multiple scripting languages, preferably Bash (Javascript, Python)
  • Expertise configuring and automating various server software, primarily in Linux such as NGINX, Tomcat, MongoDB, Node.js, PHP, and MySQL
  • Experience maintaining highly available, business impacting production environments
  • Experience working closely with software development teams to support both production and testing environments
  • Experience installing and maintaining cloud service based systems; AWS preferred
  • Experience in GIT both as a user and an administrator
  • Experience building, managing and deploying Docker services
  • Work well in a fast paced, dynamic operations environment
  • Experience in environment templates like Terraform & CloudFormation
  • Experience with Log aggregation tools like ELK, Scalyr or Datadog
  • Experience with APM/Monitoring Tools like App Dynamics, SolarWinds, Pingdom, New Relic or DataDog
