SANITATION SUPERVISOR


Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Hours: 2nd Shift, 7:00pm-3:00am

Position Salary: $70K-$75K

Position Location: Brook Park, Ohio

PURPOSE


Ensures company equipment and facilities are clean and conform with all regulatory and company guidelines in order to maintain the highest standards of company quality and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supervises and directs the activities of the Sanitation Worker functions.

Trains, assigns work to and schedules employees for cleaning duties and inspects work to ensure compliance with standards.

Maintains and updates MSS, SSOP’s and all other sanitation records.

Ensures conformance with proper manufacturing practices, OSHA standards, health code regulations and company safety policies.

Oversee the scheduling and cleaning of the flour silos.

Participates in all third party audits and coordinates corrective actions for all food safety audits in a timely manner.

Directs staff job results by hiring, coaching, training, counseling, and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

Maintains paperwork for employees. (Attendance sheets, payroll change notices etc.)

Issues supplies and equipment to employees.

Makes requisitions for cleaning supplies and equipment.

Submits requests for repair of equipment.

Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the general public.

Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

May perform cleaning duties during staffing shortages.

Assists with development and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures.

Completes daily pre-operational inspections in coordination of QA approval.

Responsible to report food safety, quality or food defense concerns to QA Manager.

Conforms and ensures compliance with all Safety, GMP’s, and Food Safety Policies.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.

Education, Training and/or Experience

  • school diploma or equivalent.
  • - 10 years food processing experience.
  • 3 years as a Sanitation supervisor
  • knowledge

  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications and uses of intranet and internet.
  • Developed problem solving, team building and staff development skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as chemical labels, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Moderate mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to complete and pass Sanitation training courses.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
  • Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
