About The Role:

This position develops, coordinates, and executes Human Resources functions such as staffing and recruitment, employee relations, compensation, labor relations, some payroll and benefits activities, onboarding, and training, among others. Interacts with and at times may provide guidance to Payroll & Benefits Administrator.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages the recruiting and staffing function; develops and implements new sourcing of candidates, coordinates interview panels and assessments post interview.
  • Manages ADP’s Learning Management System (LMS) to plan and distribute training programs.
  • Conducts post offer candidate process, including reference checking, background checks, pre-employment drug screens.
  • Counsel to supervisors, management, and employees regarding Handbook policies and HR procedures and SOPs.
  • Assists with reorganizations, change initiatives, and reductions in force as needed.
  • Ensures the organization communication is compliant with federal, state, and local law; updates Human Resources postings and ensures the maintenance and communication of legally required notices and records required by governing bodies or other departments in the organization.
  • Develops and maintains HRIS system, develops reports and analyses as required, such as OSHA reporting, EEO-1, internal Human Resources reports, etc.
  • Handles or assists in approval and commencement of LOAs, including FMLA, STD, LTD, Workers' Comp leaves.
  • Identifies legal requirements, new or changing, and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Handles employee relations issues, complaints, disciplinary actions, and investigations, in conjunction and agreement with Director, Human Resources; advises supervisors and management in resolution of employee relations issues, performance issues, and other Human Resources actions.
  • Develops and implements new employee orientations and onboarding programs and materials, and follow ups.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, consistency and equity within the organization.
  • Assists in the administration of wage and salary increases, reports.
  • Coordinates and conducts supervisor and employee training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, and harassment.
  • Investigates accidents and interfaces with management and insurance carrier.
  • Assists in preparation of Human Resources budget; assists with employee events as needed.
  • Handles unemployment claims and hearings; contracts and interacts with outside vendors to provide employee services if needed, such as uniforms.
  • Seeks to continually improve processes or programs in keeping with a changing and growing environment.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5+ years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist
  • Preferably experience in a manufacturing environment, with both hourly and salaried workforce.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Human Resources related area.
  • SHRM Certification a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail; analytical/mathematical skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems; Microsoft Office; excel, power point, word.
  • Conflict resolution; training platform skills
