Vice President of Purchasing

$200,000 with bonus

The Vice President of Purchasing will oversee purchasing and materials management across close to 50 plants in the US and Canada. This role will lead a team and have direct and indirect reports.

Must Haves / Mandatory:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in purchasing
• 10+ years of purchasing leadership with strong industry, business, and financial expertise
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle
• Technological savviness to support digitization efforts.

Nice to Have / Preferred:

• Experience in the home, building, or housing manufacturing markets, or related fields such as wood or building materials.

Qualifications:

• Influencing, negotiation, and problem resolution skills
• Heavy travel during the first 6 months of position.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle
• High emotional intelligence, strong leadership, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with plant managers and other stakeholders

Responsibilities:

• Develop procurement strategies, lead purchasing team, and collaborate with executive team
• Establish and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, conduct evaluations, and develop new suppliers
• Oversee procurement processes, implement best practices, and develop policies and metrics
• Prepare and manage budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and monitor market trends
• Recruit, train, and mentor the purchasing team, foster a culture of improvement, and conduct performance reviews
• Identify threats and opportunities, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with regulations
