The Dennis Law Firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our legal team. As a Personal Injury Associate Attorney, you will handle cases before the cases go to trial. You will be expected to meet with clients to discuss their case with compassion, empathy, and a relentless pursuit to ensure our clients get the justice they deserve. You will be responsible for providing clients with updates and communicating with insurance companies regarding the status of claims, demands, and offers. Additionally, you will draft demand letters, negotiate settlements, and prepare cases for litigation, if needed. You may also work with senior attorneys to build strong cases and ensure clients receive the compensation they deserve.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all pre-litigation cases of personal injury cases, including but not limited to motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, product liability, and medical malpractice

• Guide clients through the case management process 

• Draft and file pre-litigation documents

• Oversee settlement negotiations and the formation of demand packages

• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies, and medical providers

• Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials

• Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and insurance adjusters

• Manage the release approval process

• Manage a team of 2 - 4 Case Management Administrators

• Drive compliance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) amongst team

• Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in personal injury law


Work Experience Requirements:

• Understanding of personal injury law, including statutes, regulations, and case precedents

• Ability to gather and analyze evidence, including medical records, accident reports, and witness statements.

• Capable of negotiating with insurance companies and opposing parties to achieve favorable settlements for clients.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Critical thinking skills to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a case and develop effective legal strategies

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple cases simultaneously

• Keen understanding and empathy towards clients who have suffered injuries, along with the ability to effectively advocate on their behalf

• Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, experts, and other professionals involved in the case

• Ability to adapt to changes in case strategy, legal developments, and client needs throughout the pre-litigation process

• Proficiency in legal research and writing

• Self-starter driven by long-term career goals

• Commitment to providing high-quality legal representation and exceptional client service


Education Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Admission to the state bar and in good standing

• Law clerk or paralegal experience preferred not required.
