Position Overview: Magnetic Insight seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical Systems to lead manufacturing engineering efforts for our production preclinical Magnetic Particle Imaging (MPI) scanners with over 15 systems shipped, with a primary focus on electrical systems. You'll maintain and support systems which are complex, SUV-sized MPI scanners, ensure consistent manufacturing, and manage design changes within our small, dynamic team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead manufacturing engineering for preclinical MPI scanners, with emphasis on electrical systems, including design changes, component selection, and system integration
  • Maintain and revise comprehensive technical documentation, including SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and regulatory files (CRB, CE Master File)
  • Improve, and execute quality control and test procedures for production and field service, incorporating failure analysis and corrective actions for all system components
  • Collaborate across teams on engineering change requests (ECRs), providing technical expertise and ensuring smooth implementation of updates
  • Provide high-level customer support, diagnosing complex issues and developing solutions for field implementation
  • Travel up to 20% for on-site system support and critical issue resolution


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, with significant focus on complex electrical systems
  • Experience maintaining and updating designs in a manufacturing context
  • Strong circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation tasks


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, medical equipment manufacturing, or aerospace manufacturing
  • Familiarity with medical device regulations and quality systems
  • Expertise in technical documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Skilled in CAD software and version control systems
  • Experience with failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic principles and their applications in imaging systems
