About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Transportation Dispatcher to join our team in Las Vegas. This hybrid role combines dispatching responsibilities with a focus on sales, making it ideal for a professional who excels in both logistics coordination and client relationship management. In this position, you will play a critical role in managing the daily transportation operations, ensuring timely deliveries, and working closely with customers to identify opportunities for service expansion.


Responsibilities

Transportation Dispatching:

  • Oversee daily dispatch operations, ensuring that all transportation routes are efficiently scheduled and optimized for cost-effectiveness and timeliness.
  • Coordinate and monitor transportation logistics for various equipment and fleet, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Communicate with drivers, provide instructions, and address any route issues, delays, or emergencies as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including driver logs, shipment tracking, and customer interactions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any transportation-related issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, identifying new opportunities for additional services and upselling within the company’s portfolio.
  • Work closely with the sales team to cross-sell services, offering tailored solutions to meet customer needs and improve service levels.
  • Generate quotes, proposals, and pricing for transportation services, providing customers with timely and accurate information.
  • Assist with business development efforts by prospecting new clients and expanding the company’s customer base within the transportation sector.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and high satisfaction levels.

Administrative and Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate reporting of transportation data, including metrics related to delivery times, fleet performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development of strategies to improve operational efficiency, customer service, and profitability.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.


Candidate Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation dispatching, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Previous experience in a sales or customer-facing position, with the ability to identify opportunities and build strong customer relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics best practices, and fleet management.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with dispatch software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
