Job Overview
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator Engineer to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on enterprise systems. This role requires advanced skills in administering WebSphere Application Server, cloud systems (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), and containerized application platforms on Linux/AIX. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in multi-tier, multi-platform enterprise environments.
**Work Schedule:**
- Hours: 8-10 hours per day, Monday to Friday
- Core Hours: 7 AM - 6 PM (Any 8-10 hours within this time frame)
- On-Call: Required as part of an on-call rotation

Key Responsibilities
- _Serve as a SME for enterprise systems_, focusing on WebSphere Application Server and cloud system administration.
- _Perform and oversee system and software audits_, ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.
- _Assess business requirements and current technology_ to recommend and implement appropriate security solutions.
- _Manage and deploy containerized applications_ in cloud environments using platforms such as Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- _Collaborate with development teams_ to design, deploy, and maintain applications, ensuring they meet performance and security standards.
- _Coordinate with internal stakeholders_ on release schedules and deployment processes.
- _Promote and implement best practices_ in cloud management, CI/CD pipelines, and system performance monitoring.
- _Troubleshoot complex technical issues_, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective fixes.

- _Operating Systems_: Strong proficiency in Unix, Linux, and Windows system administration.
- _WebSphere Expertise_: Experienced in installing, configuring, upgrading, and managing security for WebSphere application servers on AIX/Linux.
- _Scripting & Automation_: Skilled in writing and deploying shell scripts for task automation.
- _Cloud Platforms_: Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, including tools like Azure Monitor, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
- _CI/CD Pipelines_: Proficient in CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket, and version control systems like Git and Subversion.
- _Web Services & Integration_: Knowledge of web services, data integration techniques, and messaging systems.

- _Containerization_: Experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift for deploying and managing containerized applications.
