What will do as a Team Member Relations Specialist:
- Carefully review complaints, gather relevant documentation and conduct thorough, timely investigations, meeting with team members and leaders, as necessary.
- Convey empathy, patience, discretion, neutrality, and active listening skills when investigating and discussing sensitive issues.
- Travel to local sites to meet with leaders and team members, when necessary.
- Interview and gather statements from complainant(s) and witnesses, using sound judgment to assess the validity of information to form fact-based opinions.
- Summarize investigation findings in standardized written reports, make determinations, and recommend course(s) of action. Submit recommendations to management, as appropriate; and follow up and document outcomes.
- Work closely with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization to effectively manage concerns and issues raised through investigations.
- Proactively identify ways to prevent or reduce team member relations issues through the implementation of additional policies and procedures, training and communications.
- Track investigations and disciplinary actions in the human capital management (HCM) system.
To be successful as a Team Member Relations Specialist, you'll need:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business or related field.
- A Minimum of five years of Generalist/Business Partner and/or Team Member Relations experience.
- Previous experience investigating formal complaints.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations (including, but not limited to, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, CFRA, FLSA).Strong guest service skills, and expert communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic, proactive partnerships with organization leaders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Experience using various HCM systems.
- The ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple complex projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
- The ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
