Specialty Consultants is recruiting on behalf of our client to fill a Regional Director role overseeing a Michigan-based affordable housing portfolio. This role manages properties across the Detroit and Kalamazoo markets, including Permanent Supportive Housing communities. The ideal candidate is an experienced affordable housing leader who is mission-driven, comfortable working with complex resident populations, and confident managing multi-site LIHTC portfolios. Responsibilities:Oversee operational, financial, and compliance performance of a multi-site affordable housing portfolioProvide hands-on leadership to on-site teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance managementEnsure compliance with LIHTC and other applicable housing programsLead budgeting, financial reviews, and variance managementSupport property takeovers, lease-ups, and ongoing portfolio growth
Qualifications
Progressive property or portfolio management experienceLIHTC experienceMulti-site supervisory experience requiredStrong understanding of affordable housing compliance and financialsExperience with Permanent Supportive Housing and/or high-needs resident populations preferredFamiliarity with MSHDA and Michigan housing programs is a plusAbility to travel within Michigan (mostly day trips; mileage reimbursed)Highlights:Fully integrated owner/operator environmentDirect access to senior leadership with a short decision-making chainOpportunity to help shape policies and procedures during a period of growthMission-driven organization focused on long-term community impact
