Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week


Job Description:

The Medical Assistant reports to the Associate Director of Primary Care and performs clinical and administrative duties within the Student Health Services Primary Care department.


Essential Functions:

Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests as directed.

Accurately record all pertinent vital signs, including manual blood pressure.

Perform testing, including EKGs and point-of-care testing such as urinalysis, pregnancy tests, strep, mono, COVID, and flu tests.

Prepare exam rooms before appointments and clean exam rooms after appointments.

Assist clinicians and nurses with all primary care visit types.

Additional departmental assistance and projects, as requested


Specific Qualifications:

High School diploma with medical assistant training program certification or EMT/Paramedic certification.

Experience working in an ambulatory care or primary care setting is preferred.

Certification is required.
