Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in Cisco networking and security devices. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience, demonstrating expertise equivalent to CCNP level. This role involves both day-to-day operational support and involvement in various project-based initiatives. The Network Engineer will work on a hybrid schedule, requiring 2-3 days per week onsite in Parkersburg, West Virginia, with the remaining days working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Operations:
- Manage and maintain Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure the stability, security, and performance of network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues.
Security Management:
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against threats.
- Configure and manage security devices such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
Project-Based Work:
- Participate in planning and execution of network-related projects, including upgrades and expansions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and solutions.
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps
Collaboration and Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users.
- Work closely with other IT professionals to align network infrastructure with business objectives.
- Assist in the development of network policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Cisco networking, including extensive hands-on work with routers, switches, and security devices.
- Demonstrated expertise equivalent to CCNP level (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- Experience with network security practices and technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in network performance monitoring and optimization.
- Knowledge of current network security threats and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Certifications:
While certifications are not mandatory, having relevant Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP) will be considered a plus.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid work model: 2-3 days per week onsite in Parkersburg, West Virginia; remaining days remote.
