Our client is seeking an Azure SQL Database Administrator with strong ETL experience. The ideal candidate will come from a smaller environment where they wear more then just a DBA hat.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Azure SQL databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune database performance to meet the needs of our applications and business processes.
  • Security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and query optimization.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to support database requirements, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Upgrades and Patching: Manage database upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Automation: Implement automation solutions to streamline database management tasks and improve efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA and ETL with a strong focus on Azure SQL Database management.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, NoSQL, Azure SQL Database, and T-SQL. Experience with PowerShell scripting and Azure Data Factory is a plus.
  • Proven expertise in performance tuning, index management, and query optimization.
  • Strong understanding of database security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
