Job Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer will support manufacturing and technical operations with a strong focus on mechanical design, continuous improvement, and productivity optimization. This role involves planning, preparing, and executing projects related to the machinery used for manufacturing and assembling components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiency Improvement: Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes through observations, measurements, and data analysis.
  • Project Management: Develop and execute project plans, coordinating work activities across multiple functions and departments.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and debug equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Documentation: Update and maintain technical documents and specifications.
  • Lean Production Strategy: Learn and implement Lean Production Strategy across multiple value streams.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Support the preventive maintenance process for key production equipment.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical engineering expertise to support day-to-day production issues.
  • Product Transition: Ensure the successful transition of new products from development to production, including the development and improvement of assembly fixtures.
  • Process Development: Develop manufacturing processes, analyze equipment layout, workflow, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Create SOPs and train operators and maintenance personnel, ensuring processes are effectively and consistently executed.
  • Tooling and Equipment: Determine tooling, fixtures, and equipment needed to achieve optimal output.
  • Collaboration: Work with R&D Engineering, Production, Quality, and Planning teams to determine project specifications and procedures.
  • Product Manufacturability: Assess the manufacturability of products with R&D Engineering.
  • Design Reviews: Participate in design reviews and approval phases.
  • Tooling Evaluation: Evaluate tooling and equipment requirements to support production.
  • Design Changes: Support design changes of products once they enter production.
  • Inspection Criteria: Assist in developing inspection criteria with Quality Control.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities for development and production issues.
  • Engineering Change Orders: Write Engineering Change Orders.
  • Supplier Development: Work with Purchasing to develop and implement technical requirements for suppliers.
  • ERP Systems: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and maintain manufacturing methods within the ERP system.
  • Process Documentation: Oversee the development, evaluation, improvement, and documentation of manufacturing processes.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes, demonstrating a collaborative interaction with peers.
  • Attention to Detail: Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of the job.

  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully.
  • Teaching and Coaching: Effectively teach, coach, and counsel associates.
  • ISO9001 Familiarity: Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an ISO9001 facility.
  • SolidWorks Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Tooling and Fixture Design: Experience in tooling and fixture design.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: General knowledge of welding, machining, and overall manufacturing processes and equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: As a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer with manufacturing capabilities and some machine design
