Role Overview: The Energy Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the energy plant, including operations, maintenance, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy systems and facilities management, coupled with excellent leadership skills to drive operational excellence and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the energy plant, ensuring efficient generation and distribution of energy across the facility. Monitor performance and implement improvements as needed.
- Staff Supervision: Lead, train, and mentor a team of plant operators and maintenance personnel. Schedule and assign tasks to ensure optimal plant performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintenance Oversight: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of plant equipment. Coordinate repairs and upgrades as necessary.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including environmental, health, and safety requirements. Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions for plant staff.
- Budget Management: Manage the plant's budget, including forecasting and controlling operational costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency measures.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Support and promote sustainability goals by exploring and implementing energy-efficient technologies and practices. Monitor and report on energy usage and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, mechanical) are a plus.
- Proven experience in managing energy systems and plant operations, with a strong understanding of energy production and distribution.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with budget management and cost control.
