HR Specialist Focusing on Recruitment & Training

An established utility company is seeking a professional Human Resources Specialist who will be responsible for various HR-related duties focusing on recruitment, onboarding and training. The Human Resources Specialist will partner with business leaders to determine hiring and recruiting needs, manage the candidate experience from sourcing to placement, weekly utilization of the Employee Performance Tracking Form (EPT to track candidate connection, manage New Hire Orientation programs, and work with the hiring managers to develop and/or approve content, Google Forms for training staff and may facilitate courses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct full life-cycle recruiting to acquire talent for all exempt and non-exempt level positions.

• Use creative sourcing methods to screen resumes, interview candidates (by phone or in-person), administer appropriate assessments, conduct reference/background checks, drug screens, make recommendations for hire (or not hire), and deliver employment offers.

• Build talent networks to find qualified active and passive candidates while maintaining an active pipeline

• Partner with hiring managers to identify and hire qualified, engaged, and diverse talent to fill challenging positions.

• Develop advertising programs to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.

• Work to ensure the timely integration of new employees into the organization.

• Ensure appropriate alignment and controls with administrative processes when auditing candidate data.

• Effectively communicate essential employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation); Conduct new hire orientations, conduct exit interviews, develop reports, evaluate trends, and make recommendations based on employee performance evaluation and feedback.

• Communicate effectively with hiring managers and candidates throughout the recruiting process.

• Manage and utilize the Employee Performance Tracking Form.

• Manage application and resume files according to record retention policy.

• Manage the internal transfer process, including screenings, coordination of interviews with hiring managers, and transfer offer letters.

• Provide a variety of recruiting reports to the HR Director.

• Work with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations.

• Represent the Company at job fairs and hiring events.

• Update job descriptions as needed.

• Assist in maintaining and coordinating the Human Resources Information System (HRIS); provide assistance, instruction, and direction to employees regarding systems capabilities and usage.

• Support the development of HR programs in the areas of performance management, employee engagement, leadership and employee development, rewards, and recognition, change management, onboarding and offboarding

• Plan and deliver an engaging employee life cycle experience (from onboarding through offboarding)

• Create mechanisms to gather, analyze, and action on employee feedback, with a focus on transparency and data-driven decisions

• Research engagement trends, ideas, and professional initiatives

• Support diversity and inclusion strategies to ensure an inclusive workplace.

• Assist the HR Director in other HR duties as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Master’s degree in Organizational Development or a related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years professional experience. This will include a minimum of 1 years in organization development, talent development or a related area.

• Proven experience in developing and implementing organizational development strategies and initiatives. Will be familiar with a range of OD interventions, including leadership development, change management, talent management, and performance management.

• Project Management skills: the ability to develop and manage project plans, set timelines, track progress, and report on outcomes.

• Facilitation skills: lead and manage focus groups, team meetings, and workshops.

• Change Management: Ability to plan, communicate and implement organizational change, as well as manage the resistance that often accompanies it.

What could set you apart

• Experience working in local service business such as plumbing, HVAC, Pool maintenance,  is preferred

• Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify patterns and trends to make informed decisions and recommendations for change.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, managers, and individual contributors.

• Thinking: Strategic mindset and the ability to think critically, identify the root cause of organizational problems, and develop solutions that align with the organization's overall strategy.

• OD Specialists should have a growth mindset and a passion for continuous learning to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in OD.
