User Experience Designer

Job Summary:


A User Experience Designer at TempWorks is involved in every aspect of the product discovery and development process from early concept, user research, wire-framing, visual design, rapid prototyping, to user testing. The User Experience Designer supports and shapes the user experience and ensures our product goals align with customer needs through direct and frequent contact with users, product owners, and engineers.

General Responsibilities:

  • Take a supporting role in user research, user testing, story mapping, usability testing, wire-framing, visual design, and rapid prototyping.
  • Work closely with Senior User Experience Designers and development teams to ensure that our products are usable, valuable to users, feasible to develop, and meet the company’s business objectives.
  • Rapidly iterate design solutions based on user testing and feedback, business needs, and technical considerations.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and QA to review product management business cases/scope documentation/high-level requirements to determine MVP deliverables.
  • Approach design from a data-driven and evidence-based mindset.
  • Create intuitive and responsive interface designs that are accessible to users with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Leverage reusable patterns to maintain our branded look and feel.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes to inform and align development, leadership, marketing, and sales efforts.
  • Work within and support the maintenance of a global patterns and guidelines library.
  • Act as a user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

· Design experience with tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch.

· Prototyping experience with tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

· Proven ability to think in systems and extrapolate and extend shared patterns such as design systems, style guides, etc.

· Experience with best practices and design patterns for multi-device solutions including mobile, tablet, desktop, and responsive designs.

· Familiarity with modern web technologies including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.

· Familiarity with Google’s Material Design Guidelines and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, and the role they play in native app design.

· Remarkable research capability and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.

  • User Experience Design: 1-2+ years (preferred).
  • Software/Digital UI design: 1-2+ years (preferred).
  • Experience developing and testing prototypes with users 1+ year (preferred).
  • Agile/Scrum development: 1-2+ years (preferred).
  • A portfolio demonstrating a commitment to designing products that align your user and product involvement and research with business objectives.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift to 10 pounds at times.
