Position Summary:

  • Design, plan, and supervise
  • Develop and implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials
  • Develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology
  • Analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on people using them
  • Determine the causes of breakdowns
  • Test manufactured products to maintain quality
  • Estimate the time and cost to complete projects

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops engineering projects with nominal direct supervision.
  • Provides shop floor support and Kaizen improvements.
  • Supports production manager, senior engineers and production associates.
  • Provides direction to maintenance and Unit Technicians
  • Manage moderate capital projects and providing capital forecasts
  • Serve as active member of Manufacturing Engineering Team
  • Facilitate kaizen and process improvement activities with the production and maintenance personnel

Education / Experience:

  • 4-year technical degree (i.e., mechanical, manufacturing or related) required and 6-8 years of experience in engineering role in a manufacturing environment

OR

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 15-20 years equivalent experience in engineering.

Other Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem solving techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with applied experience working in a team environment.
  • MS office, knowledge of poke yoke, kaizen, lean concepts
