Nikole Starr Interiors is pursuing a talented individual to be part of our growing firm. NSI is seeking a qualified Design Assistant to play a key role in supporting lead designers and projects from initial conceptual design to construction. This opportunity calls for someone that is a self-starter, detail-oriented and has the ability to multi-task multiple projects with similar deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed design plans, including floor plans, elevations, and material specifications.
- Maintain sample library and keep it updated and orderly.
- Request samples, request quotes from vendors and create proposals.
- To work directly with team to create finish and fixtures selections and specifications, including millwork, cabinetry, tile, appliances, plumbing, and lighting for high-end kitchen and bath remodeling projects with a high level of accuracy.
- Develop design boards and other visual communication techniques such as 3D modeling to communicate an overall design concept and finish and fixture selections.
- Provide design support and administration during completion and execution of design concepts.
- Source and work with outside vendors to procure and coordinate drapery, custom furniture, wallpaper installers and the like.
- Manage multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, to meet deadlines
Qualifications
- Degree in interior design or related field.
- Proficient at AutoCAD.
- Sketch-up modeling knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials for high end residential environments.
- Strong visual, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work self-sufficiently and think independently.
- Knowledge of furniture, fabric and finishes.
- Positive with an open attitude - we have no egos here
- Deadline driven, self motivated and goal oriented with a high attention to detail.
