Group Sales Manager - Boston

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Group Sales Manager to lead our group sales efforts, driving revenue growth and cultivate strategic relationships for Hotel AKA Boston Common and Hotel AKA Back Bay This role involves managing key accounts, devising comprehensive sales strategies, and representing our brand with professionalism and expertise. The ideal candidate has previous proactive experience in hotel sales, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to delivering unparalleled customer service.


Team Member Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an account base between Hotel AKA Boston Common and Hotel AKA Back Bay.
  • Partner with AKA Sales leadership and the Boston Hotel Leadership teams to achieve budget expectations aligned with the proforma
  • Partner with AKA brand sales team to refer business
  • Implement a sales action plan for the development of the designated market segments which includes telephone/direct mail solicitation, personal call program, related sales trips, trade show participation, entertainment, and networking events.
  • Build relationships with competitive set, fully verse of what market offers and what decisions need to be made to steal share in the group segment
  • Oversee efforts to uncover and prospect all local venues would drive “rooms only” business, develop promotions/referral programs
  • Host local events at the property for admins, third parties and decision makers
  • Respond promptly to all inquiries and correspondence from clients, prospects, and lead referrals.
  • Respond promptly to requests by Leadership for reports and other assignments.
  • Achieve sales and revenue goals as specified in the goal setting process.
  • Develop working relationship with hotel department heads and operational areas .
  • Be knowledgeable of local and national competitive hotels and marketing strategies.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports of sales calls and marketing actions as requested by Director of Sales.
  • Respect guidelines of confidentiality and code of ethics in all company area.
  • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times.
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow team members.
  • Remain current with Hotel AKA Boston Common and Hotel AKA Back Bay hotel information and changes.

  • Extremely flexible and adaptable to daily frequent changes in a fast pace environment


Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years hotel group sales experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four‐year College or University or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of hotel sales systems, ie: Delphi, Zoominfo is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (MSWord, Excel)
  • Able to work on-site 4 days between both properties and 1 day remote
  • Flexible schedule required based on clients’ needs
  • Intimate knowledge of Boston neighborhoods preferred
  • Previous experience building relationships with competitive set
