Position Conveyor Mechanical Level 1
Location: Arlington, TX
Pay: $19-$21/HR
Schedule: Fri-Sunday 6AM-6PM
Position Description:
- Assists in the repair of racking throughout the facility.
- Cuts scrap metal with an acetylene cutting torch; supports the scrap metal refuse program.
- Assists conveyor operator in removing jams from the conveyor system.
- Performs minor maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing and carpentry projects.
- Provides backup support as required in the Battery Room and on the Sorter.
- Operates equipment such as forklift, scissor-lift & stock picker as required to complete assigned tasks.
- Ensures parts inventories are monitored and adequately maintained.
- Will be observing mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Performs regular HVAC maintenance, coil cleaning, filter changes etc.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Performs plant startup tasks, energizing all equipment and ensuring operation.
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers.
- Replaces faulty electrical components on conveyors such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical components.
- Maintains work areas in a neat and orderly condition.
- Utilizes computer for work order entry and completion status.
- Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with the maintenance manager.
- Replaces faulty electrical components on machines such as relays, switches, motors, positions sensing devices, AC/DC Drives, and PLC components.
- Replaces electric motor bearings, brushes and rewire motors for installation
