This highly visible Buyer role will be involved in all facets of the procurement process, including identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, defining procurement best practices, managing inventory levels, reducing lead times, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate is organized, highly ethical, and a strong communicator/relationship builder who engages fellow team members. This person should also possess working knowledge of automotive/trucking industry trends, exceptional negotiating skills, meticulous attention to detail ensuring that all purchases meet company specifications, and the adaptability to pivot in response to changes in market and business needs.

This highly visible position is fully based onsite in Beloit, WI and is open due to a promotion.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies for products and related services.
• Manage the purchasing process, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and handling invoices. Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in the purchasing process.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate capabilities and pricing, and negotiate contracts and agreements with selected suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with fleet managers to understand their vehicle requirements and develop purchasing plans accordingly.
• Monitor supplier performance and promptly resolve issues/disputes as they arise.
• Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities (contracts, POs, invoices, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations and ensure personnel receive regular required training.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices in fleet purchasing.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in purchasing within the fleet management or automotive industry and familiarity with fleet management software and systems.
• Goal orientated self-starter with high integrity and the proven ability to lead by example.
• Knowledge of purchasing principles and practices and strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, analytical reasoning, and data decision making abilities with superior follow through. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Proficient in MS Office (advanced Excel use), project management, and asset management systems.
