System Simulation Engineer - (Powertrain/Drivetrain/Transmission, MATLAB, 1D Simulation) - Aurora, IL


Optomi, in partnership with a global leader in industrial manufacturing, is seeking a System Simulation Engineer to fulfill a long-term contract with a client based in Aurora, IL, with expectation to travel to Peoria, IL, from time to time for meetings, etc.


In this position, you will collaborate with various component teams, including power sources, power electronics, motors and controls, to simulate system performance for different configurations. This role will be pivotal in handling simulation requests, communicating findings and contributing to the advancement of simulation capabilities.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years of corporate experience using 1D simulation for system performance prediction
  • Experience in developing and applying 1D physics-based simulations to powertrain systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information effectively
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented setting


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform ePowertrain NPI simulations and effectively share results and insights
  • Work closely with component and sub-system teams to ensure comprehensive and precise simulations
  • Develop, document, and adhere to core simulation processes
  • Provide regular updates on simulation progress and document significant findings
  • Contribute to the enhancement of simulation capabilities to forecast ePowertrain system performance and durability
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in simulation technologies and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency
