Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controls Automation Manager to oversee a team of Controls Engineers at our growing manufacturing facility. This role is integral to leading large capital projects aimed at upgrading and modernizing our equipment to enhance efficiency, reliability, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Controls Engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE MANAGING
  • Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and commissioning of automation and control systems for large capital projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and quality to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout all project phases.
  • Identify and implement innovative automation solutions to improve manufacturing processes and reduce operational costs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues, providing technical expertise and support as needed.
  • Stay current with advancements in automation technology and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in controls and automation engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large capital projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CAP, or PE are a plus.
