The legendary Galt House AND newly renovated Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Hotel are currently hiring BANQUET CAPTAINS. As a Banquet Captain, you will play a crucial role ensuring the success of our banquet events by supervising our Banquet Servers and maintaining exceptional standards of service. It is an excellent position if you are seeking a career path in banquets, events, convention services and beyond


Responsibilities

  • Lead the Banquet Servers team during events, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with event managers and meet clients during events to understand their needs and preferences, and ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Oversee the setup and arrangement of banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, and decorations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to coordinate food service timing and ensure that all dietary restrictions and special requests are accommodated.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient service of food and beverages during events, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, including dining areas, service stations, and storage areas.
  • Train and mentor Banquet Servers, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance their performance.
  • Address any issues or concerns raised by clients or guests during events and resolve them promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and equipment, and coordinate with the appropriate departments to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures regarding safety, sanitation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a banquet or catering environment, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in hospitality management is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients and guests.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service techniques, as well as safety and sanitation standards in a hospitality setting.
