ACMS Group, Inc is seeking a seasoned estimator with extensive experience in heavy industry, civil construction and commercial sectors. The estimator will be adept to take-off plans and estimating projects and will quickly become self-sufficient in their role. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the construction process by analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates and ensuring projects are completed within budge. As a construction estimator the candidate will collaborate with various teams to negotiate contracts, manage costs and oversee project timelines.

·       You have a robust project portfolio in the construction industry.

·       You have 5 years of related estimating experience in heavy industry, civil construction or commercial sectors.

·       You have strong knowledge of construction processes including build techniques and pricing strategies. 

·       You have a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel and word.

·       You have experience with lump sum and reimbursable project estimates in the oil gas industry, steel industry, civil industry or commercial sector.

·       You are detail oriented to ensure accuracy of your work pertaining to Prime bids.

·       You have knowledge of project benchmarking and philosophies. 

·       You thrive on working with multiple teams and are not afraid to ask questions or give input to leadership to make an impact.

·       You have competitive drive and an ability to work as a team.

What you’ll Do:

The Ideal candidate will have the following skills:

·      Develop project specific estimates based on project plans, schedule and blueprints; prepare and maintain a Basis of Estimate for each project, using in house tools and ACMS Group procedures.

·      Apply the appropriate estimating methodology for the requested estimate, understanding the various types of estimates developed.

·      Understanding of productivity factors and resulting cost impacts.

·      Detailed oriented and self-motivated, but able to work with a multifaceted workforce.

·      Ability to negotiate effectively and maintain cost control through projects.

 

Key Accountabilities:

·      Review individual discipline developed estimates and integrates them into the overall project estimates as needed.

·      Preform estimate benchmarking, including data capture at key stages of the projects.

·      Complies project estimates, including basis of estimates and all back-up documentation prior to the internal and external estimate review.

·      Build and communicate the estimate plans.

·      Actively review estimating requests coming in and complete in a timely manner.

·      Set up electronic estimate files in the appropriate format.

·      Reduce project cost and ways to improve work processes.

·      Lead reviews of project estimates with the appropriate Craft leads.

·      Formally present project estimates to upper management teams.

·      Establish craft labor rates with accounting teams and productivity for estimating purposes.

·      Ensure estimates are consistent with common processes and quality standards and accurately reflect proper staffing requirements.

·      Assist in establishing the scope of work for various projects and proposals.

 

Qualifications:

You are:

·       Educated: Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.

·       Knowledgeable: 5 years of experience of construction estimating experience pertaining to the commercial/heavy industry market. 

o  Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

o  Ability to close deals effectively.

·       Analytical: Demonstrates ability to work, think critically, analyze, and problem solve to reduce over project cost. Strong knowledge of construction process including build techniques and pricing strategies.

·       Organized: Able to prioritize and follow up to manage estimate deadlines. Candidates should have the ability to stay organized and complete bids in their entirety before deadlines occur.

·       A communicator: Effectively communicate verbally and written to varied levels of audiences; comfortable asking questions and providing input and explanation.

·       Experienced: Minimum of 5 years of experience.
