We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Temporary Front Desk Manager to oversee front office operations at our luxury hotel in New York City--UES. The ideal candidate will uphold our Forbes Five Star service standards and ensure a seamless guest experience.


  • Pay Rate: $28-29


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, services, room types, rates, special packages, promotions, daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, and room availability.
  • Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of VIPs, Return Guests, and groups, and personally escort VIPs and Return Guests to their rooms.
  • Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction according to hotel standards.
  • Supervise Front Desk agents, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to SOPs and company Standards.
  • Conduct daily briefings with Front Desk agents to ensure consistent communication and standards.
  • Monitor and manage staff performance, providing coaching and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Generate and analyze weekly sales and performance reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making
  • Provide comprehensive training for Front Desk agents, emphasizing adherence to company Standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ongoing training sessions to enhance staff skills and service quality
  • Communicate effectively with the Executive Team and Heads of Department to review business status and ensure seamless operation handover.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure optimal guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Manage budgeting, inventory, labor costs, and scheduling to optimize operational efficiency and cost management.
  • Liaise closely with accounting for any finance-related issues.
  • Foster a positive working environment, promoting teamwork and high morale among staff.
  • Ensure that important information is shared daily with the entire team and managers.


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of front desk management experience.
  • Experience in the luxury hotel market is preferred.
  • Degree in Hospitality Management is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a union environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a diverse team, focusing on achieving excellence and exceptional customer service.
  • Creative and effective leader with a high degree of professionalism, energy, and determination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; must be flexible to work all shifts, including overnights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to adapt to challenges and work under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period.
  • Lift and/or move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance.
