Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the design process through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Develop site plans and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
  • Prepares and revises documentation in various civil phases including site plans, diagrams, and details.
  • Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
  • Assists senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • May lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
  • Performs and oversees the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Participates in constructability review.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on your own projects.
  • Assists in developing new standards and specifications for the civil group.
  • Works on multiple projects.


Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to perform all aspects of design (grading, streets, water, sewer, storm drain, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence.
  • Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • Experience with private clients/projects (public sector experience is an asset).
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphic communication skills, including computer literacy in Civil3D, ICPR, StormCAD, MS Office.
  • Ability to successfully manage clients, budgets and develop business.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the profession of Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer in FL or ability to obtain within FL in 6 months.
  • South/southwest Florida Experience preferred.
