The Contract Specialist is responsible for fielding contract requests, interacting with the appropriate internal subject matter experts, reviewing, revising and negotiating contracts, as well as building and implementing contract process to include appropriate approvals. The successful candidate will support day-to-day initiatives and long-term strategies. Other responsibilities include:

  • Basic components and hot button issues for various health care and related contracts.
  • Understanding of concepts and principles of strategic sourcing, contract management and project management
  • Managing multiple tasks, set priorities and allocate time to accomplish objectives of the team.
  • Upholding high ethical standards and ensure compliance with procedures, regulations and laws.
  • Savvy business acumen with excellent executive presence, presentation and facilitation skills; can effectively interact with and influence all levels of the organization and vendors.
  • MS Excel and database expertise (Dock365 experience a plus).
  • Standardizing process for contract management.
  • Analyzing potential risks that contract changes may pose to organizations.
  • Ensuring alignment and participation of internal and external parties during contract development, negotiation and execution stages.
  • Providing internal training on contract provisions and obligations of the company and vendor.
  • Reviewing and confirming that contractual provisions are followed, including quality and timeliness of work product, invoicing, payments, rates, schedule and satisfaction of all contractual requirements.
  • Responding in an informed and timely fashion to questions and requests for assistance, demonstrating appropriate sense of urgency when answering internal and external requests.
  • Metrics and data analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Zero to Two years’ experience with contracts or other legal documents. Paralegal skill set is highly desirable.
  • Experience reviewing, redlining, negotiating and drafting a broad range of corporate, operational and commercial agreements quickly and accurately.
  • Experience with Dock365 or other contract management systems would be beneficial.

Physical requirements

Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
