Organization:
Founded in 1964, Jaco Engineering is a supplier and manufacturer of precision parts and assemblies in support of the Aerospace and Defense industries. Our mission is to provide quality products in a timely manner to our customers. We do this by operating a make to order precision machining job shop located in Anaheim California.
Classification:
Non exempt
Salary Range: $28/hr. to $35/hr.

Job Description
Summary / Objective
The Quality Inspector supports and insures that quality products are produced by the company in accordance with all customer requirements. This position is focused on quality control, with a focus towards achieving the goals of meeting quality goals. The position accomplishes this through a cooperative member of the quality and production team. Respectful, constructive and energetic style guided by the mission of the company.
Essential Functions:
1. Represent the firm with customers and suppliers and auditors regarding quality issues. As designated, can serve as customer Point of Contact for customer Quality issues.
2. If directed, participate in quality audits conducted by our customers or AS Registrar
3. If directed, perform Internal Audits and supplier audits.
4. Respond to Customer corrective action requests. Conduct Root Cause analysis and complete the corrective action response.
5. Review material, processing, heat treating certifications of purchased supplies and materials.
6. Review company generated orders for compliance to manufacturing plans, and quality clauses.
7. Review company generated manufacturing plans for compliance to customer driven quality clauses.
8. Perform mechanical inspection of machined parts using CMM and PCDMIS software
9. Perform mechanical inspection of machined parts using mechanical means; calipers, mics, height gages, sine blocks, optical comparator, thread and plug gages, profilemeter, and more and using Surface Plate inspection methods.
10. Perform the daily in-process, first article and final inspection of precision machined parts as part of the quality team.
11. Preparation of First Article AS9102 reports
12. Perform maintenance of tool and gage calibration and records
13. Participate in production meetings, representing the Quality Department, and reporting back to your team action items.
14. Insures compliance with all customers’ requirements, as well as safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
15. Direct reports include the General Manger or Quality Manager
16. Accurately document physical part measurements on paper documents.
17. Attention to detail, detail oriented, critical thinking skills for inspecting critical design components design documents versus inspection data.
Qualifications:
Technical Training or Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Related Degree
Quality Related Acumen
5 Years’ Experience working In a Manufacturing Environment
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, ability to stand on feet all day, sit at a desk.
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening as a condition of employment.
Work Authorization / Security Clearance
U.S. Citizen required or equivalent and in compliance to ITARS regulations
