Summary:

Summit Ridge Energy is seeking a Procurement Manager to join our team. The Procurement Manager will purchase goods and services from external resources to assist with preparing and coordinating the development and implementation of renewable energy projects. This position plays a vital part in the company’s overall business strategy as it requires strategic planning and analysis to acquire these goods and services in a timely manner at the best possible value. Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role or function and bring knowledge in contract administration, renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, construction management processes, and/or electrical codes to the team. The Procurement Manager must be willing to travel up to 20% of their time.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the Procurement team in support of the objectives of Summit Ridge Energy
  • Sources and manages owner-supplied equipment
  • Ensures timely procurement and delivery of Owner-Supplied Equipment to support Project Schedules
  • Prepares Supply Agreements and Purchase Orders and all necessary backup
  • Responsible for/manages 3rd party logistics
  • Understand supply capacity and market trends
  • Qualify suppliers to ensure compliance with the company’s corporate policies and contracts
  • Prepare formal RFPs for equipment and assist with review & evaluation of proposals in conjunction with the Engineering team.
  • Maintain and manage inventory levels; oversee team member who conducts random records/warehouse inspections
  • Prepare and review appropriate documentation (A&A, Waivers, and other documentation as required ) to support project financing
  • Prepare and present procurement recommendations to senior leadership
  • Other duties as assigned to support Summit Ridge Energy’s procurement needs


Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or general management
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in the same or similar environments
  • Experience managing a team
  • Some knowledge of electrical systems
  • Solid and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the procurement process and experience negotiating contracts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; acute awareness and ability to manage numerous deadlines
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, initiative, and creativity
  • Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, and construction management processes preferred
  • Authorized to work in the US
