CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - Quilceda Creek Winery

 

Position Summary:

 

Seeking a Chief Financial Officer with wine industry experience to be a member of the Company’s executive team, providing financial leadership and to direct the accounting department.

Willingness and ability to all levels of financial tasks – including, transaction processing, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, analytical review, budgets, strategic planning, organizational documentation, board and shareholder communications and presentation

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting department
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the shareholders and members of the executive leadership team
  • Preparation of annual and interim financial statements
  • Oversee and management of the accounting systems and transaction processing
  • Management of the processes for financial forecasting, budgets, monitoring variances and related reporting
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning
  • Establish and develop relationships with senior management, external partners and stakeholders
  • Responsible for internal controls and policy
  • Strategic planning and management with financial and operational objectives
  • Coordination of winery with vineyard related entities
  • Analysis of capital needs and mix of debt and equity and cash flow
  • Manage and oversee federal, state and local tax compliance
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with third parties and shareholders
  • Inventory management and cost accounting
  • Information technology policy, safeguards and controls

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

·      Bachelor Degree in Accounting – MBA and/or CPA a plus

·      Minimum of ten-years’ experience in accounting

·      Experience in leadership role as controller or CFO

·      IT and software proficiency and ability to quickly learn to use new applications.

Mastery with, QuickBooks and Excel

·      Winery and agriculture accounting experience

·      Financial statement preparation and knowledge of accounting standards

·      Knowledge of federal state and local taxation – income tax, sales and use tax and excise taxes

·      General ledger and source transaction processing

·      Be an active participant in the executive decision-making process

·      Have unyielding integrity and confidentiality of Company matters

·      Willingness and ability to all levels of financial tasks – including, transaction processing, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, analytical review, budgets, strategic planning, organizational documentation, board and shareholder communications and presentation

·      Have a passion for the brand, industry and commitment to the quality of all aspects of the Company

·      Be a positive representative of the Company to all stakeholders

·      Will have a strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy, solid organizational traits, and skilled at problem solving.

·      Be able to work independently with minimal supervision

·      Have ability to do research, document conclusions and present to management

·      Willingness to work overtime if necessary
