React/Angular Developer

The React/Angular Developer for the Online Account Originations (OAO) team will work as part of the larger team to help in the design, development and testing of functionality supporting the origination of credit card accounts, while helping to ensure consistency with company strategy and goals. This role is an entry level position requiring the individual to have the aptitude to learn and to participate in the overall design, development and testing of key features during each sprint leading towards a release.

To be successful the candidate must be driven and well-organized, with strong learning abilities. It is essential for the individual to be self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and complete tasks on agreed schedules. The team will look to this individual to assist in the production releases, perform research and to aid in the resolution of production incident tickets and the completion of design and development activities.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the analysis and review of epics, features, and user stories.
  • Participate in the design and review of technical design of component software features.
  • Develop technical solutions based upon user specifications and technology frameworks, in adherence with Huntington standards.
  • Modify existing software applications as assigned.
  • Participate in the review of Test Strategy deliverables.
  • Participate in code reviews and the integration testing of solutions.
  • Participate in the debugging and resolution of issues found during testing.
  • Assist in the documentation and implementation of software programs and solutions.
  • Work with technical teams interfacing with assigned application.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, manuals, policy documents, etc.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings as needed.
  • Research and analyze production support issues.
  • Actively communicate with users and team to provide technical support.
  • Participates with team to establish target dates and complete activities/deliverables under changing conditions.
  • Participates in production releases as scheduled.
  • Participates in the team’s on-call rotation for application support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • 1 year of programming experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships or work experience.
  • Experience with JavaScript.
  • Experience with React.
  • Experience with a JavaScript unit testing framework (e.g., Jasmine).
  • Experience with NodeJS / npm tools.
  • Understand of single-page-application concepts / architecture.
  • Strong technical skills and a good understanding of software development principles.
  • Strong business and technology aptitude with a willingness to learn and understand business and software solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications; ability to explain technical risks, issues, and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively within a team and across varying areas of business and IT.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • High level of professionalism, confidence, and ability to build credibility with team members and business partners.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of Agile and the Scrum Framework.
  • Understanding of or experience with Angular (Angular JS or Angular 2+).
  • Understanding of or experience with Redux Architecture.
  • Understanding of Web Accessibility /WCAG.
  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Strong technical writing capabilities.
  • Ability to translate technology into relatable concepts for business partners.
