Responsibilities:

  • Prepares key project documentation in executing the complete instrumentation engineering scope of work as per the project requirements in meeting customer’s expectations
  • Prepares instrumentation system concepts, schedule of deliverables and plan activities in line with overall project schedule, delegate the tasks to instrumentation team member assigned to the project and monitor the progress
  • Leads instrumentation team to prepare documents, such as design philosophies, block diagrams, room layout and deck arrangement
  • Leads instrumentation team to perform system design verification, such as F&G coverage, calculation
  • Leads instrumentation team to prepare procurement engineering documents, such as technical specifications, equipment data sheets, MTO, technical bid evaluation etc
  • Participates in project meeting/technical meeting/3D model review/Workshop, attends to basic technical queries and issues related to Instrumentation design and reviews the deliverables (i.e.VCD, third party study report, workshop report etc)
  • Participates and support for functional safety assessment review such as CHAZOP, ICSS design review, Alam review, digital security review etc
  • Liaises with owners, statutory and classification authorities for design compliance review and approval on the proposed project plans in meeting project requirements
  • Generates reports on work progress and submits to senior team members for review and approval before submitting to owners, statutory and classification authorities for approval and maintains project database for future references
  • Performs technical studies in cooperation with production team members and Instrumentation vendors for conversion project and/or repair & life extension project
  • Works with procurement and project team to source for instrumentation vendors in complying with the project technical requirement specifications in meeting project deliverables
  • Prepares engineering deliverable such as block diagram, termination diagram, room & equipment layout in compliance with requirements of contract, classifications and regulations and coordinate with various disciplines for material handling, working environment requirement, constructability and installations, operations and maintenance, and safety etc
  • Provides solutions to commercial, production and project team members on all aspects of instrumentation engineering to support new-build’s/conversion fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning activities
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by superior(s) from time to time


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering or related engineering disciplines
  • 6 years of working experience in planning, designing and construction of Instrumentation design in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience in Instrumentation and Control system design in Pre-FEED, FEED, EPCC, Conversion and Repair & Life Extension
  • Familiarity with USCG and BSEE requirements will be an additional advantage
  • Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Required to relocate to Houston
