We are working with a leading law firm with a top Intellectual Property (IP) practice, which is currently looking for a Patent Litigation Associate with a minimum of three years of experience to join its Cleveland office. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of IP experts in a fast-paced, innovative, and client-focused environment.


In this role, the associate will represent clients in a wide array of patent-related matters, including patent enforcement and defense in federal courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and alternative dispute resolution forums. The firm works with a diverse range of clients, from emerging startups to established industry leaders, providing counsel on patent infringement issues, pre-litigation strategy, and broader IP litigation concerns. You’ll gain significant exposure to high-profile patent disputes and have the opportunity to shape clients' strategies for enforcing their intellectual property rights.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support patent infringement litigation, including pre-suit investigations and actions in federal courts and before the ITC.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial materials, and manage the litigation process from start to finish.
  • Advise clients on patent enforcement strategies, including risk management and dispute resolution through ADR mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including experts, clients, and internal stakeholders, to develop and execute case strategies.


Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in patent litigation
  • Experience in federal court litigation, including motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Familiarity with ITC proceedings and ADR options is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and legal concepts clearly.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • A law degree from a top school.
  • Admission to the Ohio bar or eligibility for admission.
