Reports To: Traffic Manager 

FLSA Status: Full Time Non-Exempt 

   

Summary:  

 

The B’laster Corporation is a small, entrepreneurial enterprise, which requires all employees to be willing to help in areas that do not fall within their specific job function.  All B’laster team members must be able to work autonomously and be effective with limited supervision, collaborating and teamwork, while also understanding when and how to escalate issues and challenges.  At the Medina, Ohio site our focus is distribution of multiple high-quality products. 

 

 The Traffic coordinator is responsible for making sure the finished product is scheduled on proper trucking, out the door on time, packed according to customer specifications, and delivered to the customer on time.   As a shipping account coordinator, your job duties include communicating with shippers to provide rates, managing large quantities of packages, and assisting with various routing tasks. You also track packages already in route to their destination.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

 

  • Processing orders once entered by Customer Service into Netsuite including printing packing slips, rate quoting orders to determine carrier routings, creating BOL’s once routing determined. 
  • Creating customer specific labels, pallet sheets, and extra documentation as required 
  • Processing ASN’s either before and/or after the order ships depending on the customer requirements. 
  • Releasing orders for certain customers in their portals for routings. 
  • Checking orders for routings after time frame allowed that the customer’s request to route their shipments. (Some notify us, some need checked manually) 
  • Creating small package labels in FedEx and UPS for package orders (once able to access software and print, which is work in progress) 
  • Once shipments have been picked up by carriers. Collecting all paperwork from the dock / shipping desk. Marking individual orders “shipped” in Netsuite. This gets the process rolling for invoicing the customers for their shipments, so we get paid. 
  • Assisting Traffic Manager and or Warehouse Manager in any other task that may be completed. Such as extra labeling work or printing of abnormal paperwork for things like stacker projects for example. Though not her main roll or the reason of her being here, but she will help on the floor as well with light work. Such as packing small package shipments and things of that nature. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:   

 

  • High School graduate, or equivalent training.  
  • One-year shipping experienced preferred. 
  • Possess basic ship math skills, and ability to read.  
  • Must have computer skills, Email, Excel 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

 

  • Ability to work unsupervised.  
  • Have Time management and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner. 
  • Attention to detail.  
  • Initiative and teamwork  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and hands on.   
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 

 

Physical Demands:  

 

  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  
  • Employee is regularly required to stand for 8 hours at a time, with minimal breaks.  
  • Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.  
  • Employee is regularly required to operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to forklifts.  
  • The Position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.  

 

Work Environment: 

 

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic equipment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.  Is occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and loud noise.
